Inspiration for Sapphirine Sail

Sapphirine Sail was commissioned as a companion piece to my earlier work “Passiflor de France.” The client, inspired by the bright yellow of the “Passiflor,” had the brilliant vision of acquiring two additional sailboat paintings in the other primary colors to compliment the first! Now isn’t that a great idea? This piece is, obviously, the blue iteration (my favorite hue), which leaved the red centerpiece to round out the threesome. We’ll have to arrange for a good photograph of the assemblage once they are all delivered and displayed: should be quite the visual statement!
