Olympic Boa | 9×12 | Oil on Panel
Inspiration for Olympic Boa
The subsea support and construction vessel Olympic Boa has docked at the port of Pensacola for maintenance several times. One evening as the sun was setting, the beautiful colors of the sky and water set against the dark bulk of the ship really struck me. The white paint of the mechanical constructs glowed with rosy hues. Shadows turned aqua and cerulean. Electrical lights and clouds reflected in the water with a lovely array of colors. During early evenings, even grungy industrial forms turn somewhat magical—I truly love this time of day!
