Inspiration for New Horizon Evening Study

New Horizon Evening Study showcases one of the cast of shrimp boats located behind Joe Patti’s Seafood here in Pensacola, FL. Earlier on this particular afternoon, I had been painting another ship en plein air. As the sun started to go down, however, the rosy light on the New Horizon really caught my eye. What amazing colors can be found on the white hulls of boats during the late afternoon! The quiet, shallow waters reflect these hues and harmonize with the increasing vibrancy of the surrounding environment. Peace and beauty descends on the world!
