Inspiration for Labor Day Docking Study

Labor Day Docking Study depicts a sailboat at its moorings in a small local marina. The sun shone brightly on Labor Day weekend this year, and I imagine many families had taken to the beach here in Pensacola. Fortunately for me, at least one sailboat owner had left his or her craft tied up in spite of the Holiday! I’ve always loved sailboats, especially colorful ones. The beautiful colors of the water, interesting textures of metal, glass, rope, sail, fiberglass, and the boats’ beautiful “lines” all combine to create, for me, painting delight!
