Inspiration for Becky Study

Becky Study depicts one of Pensacola’s active painters, painted “alla prima,” from life. For a considerable amount of time she lead the “Plein Air Painters of Pensacola” that meets on Friday mornings. In this role she selected the locations and sent out the email alerting the group members. On several occasions she has agreed to sit for the portrait study group that meets on Wednesday mornings at the First Presbyterian Church. (Because she focuses on landscape paintings, Becky doesn’t usually attend this group in a painting capacity.) Having fellow artists pose usually constitutes a reliably still model—they know the challenging nature of painting from life!
