Monday Night Portrait | 11×15 | Oil on Paper
Inspiration for Monday Night Portrait
Contrary to most of my portrait studies, Monday Night Portrait was not, in fact, painted on a Wednesday morning. 😀 A friend of mine arranged for a Monday night sitting at our alma mater, and a student at the school volunteered to sit for us. (College students are so accommodating!) I worked on Arches Oil Paper for this piece, a rather unusual substrate. Paper has certainly been used for oils in the past, but linen or panel rules the surface category for oils.
