Inspiration for Dominique the Thespian 3

Dominque is a wonderful model who sits regularly for the Wednesday morning portrait study group. He aspires to be an actor, and has a wonderful presence. I’d vouch for his voice and decorum, although I’ve never seen him act in person! He’s a super nice guy and, almost more importantly to an art group trying to accomplish a painting study, he holds very still. I sure hope he gets his big break soon!

I painted this particular study from a profile view, with Dominique looking very serious indeed. The background had a nice “reversal” from light-to-dark, that complements his face, at it moves from dark-to-light.
