Inspiration for Docking for Repairs Study

I painted Docking for Repairs Study at the Port of Pensacola, and completed the full-sized painting soon afterwards. The Maritime Museum also juried this study into their “Plein Air Painters of the Maritime Gallery” show! Occasionally a painting percolates in the last 5% of completion, and the full-sized Docking for Repairs was one of those pieces. The finishing touches can make the difference between a good and great painting. Sometimes it takes  an extended period of time to get it just right!
