Inspiration for Autumnal Tradition

Autumnal Tradition shows a little-visited genre for me. I don’t often paint still-lifes but when I do…they include pumpkins. 😉 This time of year, it is sacrosanct that every artist paints some sort of Thanksgiving or Harvest-inspired work. And why not? What a wonderful thing to be put in remembrance of our blessings and to give thanks to God for His providence! And all the more so in these times of uncertainty and unrest. As a side-note, I actually heavily reworked this piece from a couple years ago. The former iteration never satisfied me, so the painting sat in a corner of the studio for quite some time.  And Autumn was the perfect season for a renaissance! I dusted the piece off, took drastic steps with the composition, and now I’m very pleased with it!
